Karley Ammons: Goat- pulled in her half of the class, placed 20 out of 66 goats. Sheep- Had a great goat in a very difficult heavy weight class. Audrey Graham Goat- got lot of looks and showed great Dustie Powell Goat- probably had the most entertaining animal of the year. He was giving free massages to anyone that came by. CTE Month
Students in culinary arts finished up working on the breakfast unit learning about making biscuits and gravy, crepes, waffles, pancakes, and French toast. During this time they also began costing out food and introduced menu making. Students have learned a good deal and they are applying the knowledge to begin making their own restaurant concept and menus.

Mustang Outfitters Ag Mechanics team of City View FFA competes in the Ag Mechanics Show at the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show!!! 🐴 Outstanding job by our Mustang Outfitters for their projects. Austin Mitchell, Madelynn Hopkins and Luis Romero took home a blue ribbon, 2nd in Wildlife Feeder and waters class and a Reserve Champion of the Wildlife Equipment Division banner for their Double barrel wildlife feeder!! They Kannon Hopkins and Daniel Sawyer received a blue ribbon for their single barrel wildlife feeder. Gavin Wofford, Lane Williams and Caleb Coleman received a blue ribbon for their pellet grill cooker/smoker. Jasper Johnson was a hit with his spurs and receiver a blue ribbon. Jason Powell had a good showing with his metal mover and received a red ribbon. Camren Nettles worked hard on his utility trailer and received a red ribbon. There is a ton of work that goes into these projects. Students have to construct the project, know all the info and be able to visit with the judges about it. Create books with all the documentation is also a requirement. These students are using more skills than just fabricating. Please let these young students know they did an awesome job when you see them!!! Way to go Mustang Outfitters!!!!

Throughout this past semester, our FFA pig showmen have been putting in the work, no matter if it's early or late, a school day or not, to make sure their animals are taken care of and ready when county show and all the majors roll around this upcoming semester! We have made multiple trips to jackpot shows to get in some practice, got to grow in our knowledge of the swine industry, and gain some good memories throughout all of the hard work and time put into these projects! Throughout these projects, kids get the opportunity to not only learn how to properly take care of an animal, but also how to manage their time properly, be a good leader and showman, and just be responsible! Here are a few snippets of what some of our weekends consisted of:💙

Guest chef came by to visit to help teach a few classes on biscuits and gravy to finish our breakfast unit. Our advanced class got to work with appetizers and many products they can incorporate into multiple dishes including baked chicken wings and scallops. Happy with their efforts! Principles of hospitality just took their introductory safety and sanitation exam to begin working with baking to start the next semester.
