We’re proud to share that our Meats Evaluation team has officially qualified for the State Contest!
Competing today at Area CDEs at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, these students put their hard work on display and advanced out of Area 4 to earn their spot at the State Contest next week in College Station at Texas A&M.
This team has put in the time, effort, and commitment all season long, and it showed today. We’re excited to see them represent our program at the next level.

Careers don’t always follow a straight line… and today our seniors saw that firsthand!
Our guest speaker, Katelyn Bashford, shared her journey from Cosmetology to NICU Nursing, Forensic Nursing, and now Real Estate. She gave our Senior Success classes an honest look at trying different paths, learning new skills, and finding your 'why' along the way.
Thank you for spending time with our students and sharing your story with the City View Mustangs!

If you walked into our Senior Success class the past 3 weeks, you might’ve thought we were filming a Netflix series.
We had:
✔️ An FBI Agent
✔️ A Lawyer
✔️ Correctional Officers
✔️ A Social Worker
All sharing real-life stories, career paths, and the truth about what their jobs actually look like day-to-day.
We are also grateful for Dr. Jesse Thomas (Superintendent for City View ISD) spending the day with our classes discussing the upcoming school bond, the Senior Class trip and graduation.
We are thankful for community leaders who show up for our students!

Not every success in the show ring comes with a banner, sometimes it comes from the courage to try something new.
This year, one of our City View FFA students stepped into a Show Heifer project and took on a challenge that was completely outside her comfort zone. While she didn’t place in the arena, what she accomplished matters far more than the final lineup.
It’s easy to try something when you know you might win. The real growth happens when you step into the unknown, when you’re willing to learn, work, and push yourself even when the outcome is uncertain.
In agriculture, and in life, success isn’t measured only by banners or buckles. It’s measured by effort, grit, and the willingness to keep showing up.
You won’t always be the best but you can always give your best.
We’re proud of the work, dedication, and courage it took to take on this challenge. That’s what building the future of City View FFA is all about.

We’re proud to share that both of our steer pens made grade at the Houston Junior Commercial Steer Show. Making grade means these cattle met the standards for producing high-quality beef, and it reflects the time, care, and management that goes into raising them right.
A big congratulations to Audrey and Jantzen, who represented City View with pride. Their hard work and dedication helped make this accomplishment possible and continue to build momentum for our program.
The City View Beef Program is about more than showing cattle, it’s about learning how to produce safe, high-quality beef for consumers, understanding the beef industry, and developing responsibility through daily care and management of livestock.

Chef Chelsea from Escoffier Culinary College came in to talk and demonstrate a few things in each class this week. The students in principles and intro classes got to learn about scones both sweet a d savory. The advanced class learned a little on street tacos and then got a chance to have a little work on their own.
The earlier students will get a chance to make some scones soon as well.
