Students learned about past and present Thanksgiving foods, some foods made in 30-35 minutes, and what giving Thanks is about. One of the best times of the year for family gatherings and being together in the kitchen. Hope it was a great prelude to the real thing and Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we wrapped up an incredible LDE season at the Area 4 Leadership Development Events in Jacksboro and we could not be more proud of every single student who stepped up, competed, and represented City View with heart, grit, and professionalism.

City View CTE had an exciting day on campus as students in our Law Enforcement Program of Study welcomed two members of the Wichita Falls Police Department SWAT Team. Students explored SWAT equipment, checked out the vehicle, and discussed real-world operations with the officers.

A big thank you to WFPD SWAT for their cooperation with our education today. We appreciate their willingness to partner with our program and provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for our students.

Our Agricultural Mechanics students put in great work today practicing their arc-welding beads. Proud of the skills they’re building one pass at a time!

Thank you for Prostart for reaching out to one of our local restaurants to help showcase some items! Very thankful for Amanda and Chef Patrick for coming out to help talk and demo some delicious items Tuesday! They have showed much support over the years to our students as they attempt to learn and perform tasks related to culinary arts.

On Wednesday, our Seniors participated in a "Senior Blast Off" hosted by Region 9. The students rotated through sessions that included money management, interactive / hands-on career activities, and essential life skills as they transition out of high school. Busy 4 days this week in the kitchen and classroom working with herbs/seasoning with advanced students. Then with intro we did a basic pancake and store bought syrup to upscale pancake batter and homemade maple syrup. Lastly our guest Chef Jason Avelson performed an Apple swan, chicken fabrication, and lots of Q & A. Thursday we wrapped it up with more demo to follow up and hopefully hone in on station set up, seasonings, and handling ourselves in the kitchen. Kids did a wonderful job and I think they learned a lot.

Our Principles of Ag students had a fun day putting their poultry knowledge to the test! After a lively review game, the winning team in each class earned the chance to name one of our chicks!

Equine Science students took the lead today as we learned about the horse’s mouth and equine dentistry tools like the dental float!

Our Seniors put their communication skills into action on Monday during our Speed Networking Elevator Speech activity! Students practiced delivering their 30-second introductions... sharing who they are, their goals and what makes them stand out. We are learning that our Personal Brand starts with first impressions and how well we introduce ourselves. #SeniorSuccess #PersonalBrand #CityViewMustangs

Students were able to get into the kitchen to do some tasty treats last week for Halloween/Fall inspired decorations! The younger students have been on quick breads and desserts while the older students got to work on decorations/presentation/savory items with the fall flare.

Today, City View FFA showed up and showed out at the Wichita District LDE Contest bringing home the Multi-Teacher Sweepstakes and advancing eight teams to Area!

Last week in Floral Design, our students embraced the fall season by creating fall and Halloween-themed arrangements! Stayed tuned for many more arrangements this year!

Reminder for tonight!! Any and all stock show exhibitors that plan to show at Wichita County Junior Livestock Show and/or the Spring Texas major livestock shows need to be present at tonight's stock show signups.

Entries will need to be paid for tonight as well! So please come prepared for that.
