Our Classroom Ambassadors are stepping up as leaders by greeting adults who enter their classroom with confidence and respect. Today, these young leaders welcomed me with a handshake, a thoughtful question, and even asked me to sign their social contract. 🙌
At City View, we believe in growing leaders who are not only strong students but also confident communicators. Every handshake, every question, and every moment of ownership helps prepare them to make a lasting impact in the future. 🐴

In accordance with Texas Senate Bill 12 (SB 12), all school districts are required to provide parents with the opportunity to consent or deny school-based mental health services for their child.
To comply with this law, every parent/guardian must complete the SB 12 form for each enrolled student, regardless of whether you give consent or deny services. Completing this form ensures that your wishes are clearly documented and that the district remains in compliance with state requirements. Sign into your Parent Square account to complete the form online.
Please complete and return the SB 12 form no later than Friday, Sept 12. Your prompt attention helps us better support our students and ensures that our records are accurate.

Today, we celebrate and honor Mrs. Vicki Dawkins for her 25 years of incredible service at City View Elementary! 💙 For a quarter of a century, Mrs. Dawkins poured her time, energy, and heart into making City View a great place for students and staff.
To recognize her dedication, we have placed a Buddy Bench in front of the school with her name on it. This bench will stand as a symbol of friendship, kindness, and the lasting impact she has made on generations of Mustangs. 🐴

Every Friday, Mrs. Towry and Mrs. Seigler will lead our students through the iLead program by John Maxwell! This program is all about building leadership and values that empower our Mustangs to succeed in school and in life.
At City View Elementary, we believe you must have a child’s heart before you can reach their mind. Through Capturing Kids’ Hearts, our students build social contracts—their own standards for how they will treat others and carry themselves in the classroom.

Every Friday at City View, our students get the gift of Character Education with Mrs. Graves! She’ll be joined by Mrs. Straight from Communities in Schools and Mrs. Salazar from Serenity House as they help our Mustangs learn values, life skills, and how to treat themselves and others with kindness and respect.

What a start to the new year, Mustangs!
The first 3 days of school were a HUGE success! From Meet the Teacher Night to Read Alouds, Math Fundamentals, Public Speaking Skills, Social Contracts, Building Leaders, and all the fun icebreakers, our hallways and classrooms have been full of energy and Mustang pride.
This didn’t just “feel” like the first week of school, it felt like we’ve been rolling together for weeks already. That’s a credit to our staff, families, and students putting in the work to do things the right way.
Remember, Best is the Standard. We’re not chasing perfect, we’re chasing GREAT. And I couldn’t be more proud of the way our Mustangs have started this year!
