CITY VIEW CTE Culinary Students recently competed in what is called a mystery basket of ingredients. They are required to use all of the ingredients in some form to create an entree for a panel of judges. Mystery ingredients they had to use: Low grade beef, sardines, pumpkin paste, coke cola, and blue cheese. They did a wonderful job working as a team trying to make a savory dish with unfamiliar items. #itsabetterviewasamustang

Texas Court Reporter Leslie Hash-Ryan came to talk to the criminal justice students about the amazing career of court reporting. Students got to practice typing on the steno machine!

💥National Range Contest Qualifiers💥 ‼️City View FFA Range Team Qualified and is headed to Nationals‼️ Success for these students as they have worked extremely hard to achieve their goals!!! 📝 58 of the top qualifying Range teams from all twelve of the Texas FFA Areas competed at the state level held at the GKB Cattle company property hosted by Tarleton State University. Our team had to compete against a very competitive group of teams just to qualify, then ran with the absolute best today! State Wildlife contest is in the books for City View FFA! State Wildlife was held in Junction Texas this year at the Texas Tech campus where City View FFA place 40th as a team. The wildlife team is a 3X in a row STATE qualifier team! What a great year this group has had judging wildlife. They have to know wild plants and the preferences of the animals that eat the plants, biological facts of wild animals, game laws, hunter/boater/anger safety, habitat evaluation and techniques of anything wildlife in this contest. There is a ton of information for them to learn and know. Very proud of the group that includeds Senior - Matthew Sawyer Sophomore - Madelynn Hopkins Sophomore - Nicholas Edmondson Freshman Dustin “Lane” Williams Freshman - Gavin Wolford Lots of work and practice that goes into these contest and very proud of the accomplishments this group has done. We will work next year to qualify for state again, stay tuned!!

Wichita Falls Weld Off Results City View had 12 students attend the weld off were 11 received a welding certification and entered into the welding competition. Wichita FFA District Convention City View FFA had a great day! We want to congratulate the chapter for winning District Championship as the top overall chapter as the Sweepstakes winner of the Career Development Events. The success the chapter had with CDE’s this year shows the work students have shown. Madelynn Hopkins - District Champion in the Senior Prepared Public Speaking in the Ag Comm and Tech! Runner Up in the Extemp Speaking. She will be moving on to Area in both of these contest! Congratulations to the City View FFA chapter!!!

City View CTE is proud to introduce Ms. Kennedy Swan as our newest Agricultural Science Teacher and FFA Advisor for the 24-25 School year. “I recently graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors in Agricultual Education. I will be teaching our Floral Design, Horticulture, and Plant & Soil Science classes along with coaching LDE and CDE teams and supervising pig projects. My main goal this upcoming school year is to share my passion for the agriculture industry and educate future generations on this industry that is so near-and-dear to my heart!” Welcome to City View ISD Ms. Swan! 💥City View FFA WILDLIFE TEAM ADVANCES TO STATE! Team members competed at the Region 5 competition held in Gatesville, Texas! Talk about tough and dedicated, these youth judge through a rain downpour from start to finish! Very proud of the job well done!!! Proud of all the students who advanced to the state skills USA competition and competed over the weekend. Many good experiences and lessons learned while here and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead as all of our students can return again next year. First trip to state is in the books and we will see you again next year.

Congratulations to the students and teachers who have been at the State Skills USA competition in Corpus Christi this week! Here are the results we have so far. Temperance Pereira received best in show for her category with her guitar amp computer build. Louis Mok and Ryan Castro both received State Superior Blue ribbons for their city view themed computer build. Ava Barker received a state Superior Blue ribbon for her Hulk themed Cake. Dakota cave received a state Superior Blue ribbon for her wonder woman themed Cake.

City View FFA Range Team!! Competed at the Evant Double Header Contest where they placed 3rd in the morning contest and 1st in the afternoon!! Madelynn Hopkins was 3rd individually in the morning and won the afternoon contest as the top individual. Daniel Sawyer was 3rd overall in the afternoon contest and Giovanni Portillo placing 7th. Matias Portillo, Izabella Porter and Anthony Nguyen round out the Range team where they have been working hard to get ready for Area! Very Proud of these youth. Keep working at the goals set for our team. #Love looking at plants 🌱!!!

Kids have been working really hard for state next week. Sorry no pics of cakes yet but they have got many stages accomplished and coming along very well!
