Agricultural Mechanics at Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo!!!! Students were able brave the bitter cold and recieved Blue Ribbons for City View FFA! Congratulations to the following students and their projects. 10th graders Braxton Patty and Luis Romero with their Oxy-Fuel Torch Carts. 7th grader Kannon Hopkins and 3rd grader Jasper Johnson with their Hands Free Foot Vise. Multiple people were impressed and enjoyed the designs both projects. Students got to experience the Fort Worth Museum Science and History and enjoyed some fun time at the bowling alley with their accomplishments. Very proud of the job these young men were able to accomplish!!!

Livestock class took a field trip yesterday to a swine breeding facility. They learned about the feeding and breeding process for show market pigs. Each student was able to get hands on experience in ear notching,vaccinations and docking tails.

Outstanding showing by City View FFA Ag Mechanics team at the Wichita County Stock Show!! Camren Nettles was Champion of the Trailer Class with his 14ft Utility Trailer. Braxton Patty, Luis Romero, Camden Walser and Matias Portillo was Champion of the Agricultural Machinery class with their Oxy-Fuel Torch Carts. Kannon Hopkins and Jasper Johnson was 2nd in Agricultural Machinery class with their Hands Free Foot Vise. Jerry Souther, Camren Nettles and Jeffrey Tulcus was 3rd in Creative class with their custom fire pit. Austin Mitchell, Madelynn Hopkins and Frank Romas was 4th in Create class with their custom fire pit. Camren Nettles won Senior Showmanship. Kannon Hopkins won Intermediate Showmanship. Jasper Johnson won Junior Showmanship! Clean sweep for City View FFA on Belt Buckles!! Way to work!!

Livestock Ag class took a field trip to Wichita Livestock Sale Barn today. Learning about cattle market pricing, cattle sorting and working areas, identifying cattle breeds , various job opportunities and can't leave out "walking on the cat walk above all the cattle pens!" We got so excited we forgot a group picture outside the sale barn!

This weeks efforts on learning about how to make homemade butter and butter milk out of heavy cream. There is also a uil event where we are doing pork butts for the staff. Making bbq sauce and cake balls as well.

The Medical Assistant class had guest speakers from United Regional's surgical team today. They learned all about different job opportunities in the OR, got to practice donning sterile PPE, and handle surgical tools used during operations. We love any opportunity to learn about new career options!

Great 2023 LDE Season for City View FFA Members!!!! Area IV Leadership Development Event was held in Abilene Tx were students competed in Ag Advocacy, Ag Issues, Sr Chapter Conducting, Sr Creed, Greenhand Radio and Greenhand Skills. For the second year in a row, City View FFA has qualified with 6 teams for Area which is awesome job by our students!! As City View FFA closers one chapter another one opens. Great job to all the students and the advisors for a great LDE season!!!!!
