Students worked hard to make 50 cupcakes (strawberry and chocolate) and 2 cakes. The students decided to spend some extra time and go above and beyond to make their creation even more special. I love the efforts and time spent for others.
Livestock Ag class took a field trip to Wichita Livestock Sale Barn today. Learning about cattle market pricing, cattle sorting and working areas, identifying cattle breeds , various job opportunities and can't leave out "walking on the cat walk above all the cattle pens!" We got so excited we forgot a group picture outside the sale barn!
8th period is an energetic bunch!
2nd period which one group posted 15:05 in the fastest time of the day to make butter.

This weeks efforts on learning about how to make homemade butter and butter milk out of heavy cream. There is also a uil event where we are doing pork butts for the staff. Making bbq sauce and cake balls as well.
FFA District banquet success ! Proud of the work our teams put in to earn all these new banners.
The Medical Assistant class had guest speakers from United Regional's surgical team today. They learned all about different job opportunities in the OR, got to practice donning sterile PPE, and handle surgical tools used during operations. We love any opportunity to learn about new career options!
Great 2023 LDE Season for City View FFA Members!!!!
Area IV Leadership Development Event was held in Abilene Tx were students competed in Ag Advocacy, Ag Issues, Sr Chapter Conducting, Sr Creed, Greenhand Radio and Greenhand Skills.
For the second year in a row, City View FFA has qualified with 6 teams for Area which is awesome job by our students!!

Boyd Build Off - Fire Pit competition!!
City View FFA had two teams compete with the following students. Jerry Souther, Camren Nettles, Jeffery Tulcus for one team and Austin Mitchell, Madelynn Hopkins and Frank Ramos as the second team. Students have a generator welder and tools to work in groups of three for 3 hours without the help of their ag teacher. This is learning at its finest as they have to work off their own knowledge and skills as they build their project.
The City View FFA chapter will take these two pits and show them at Ag Mechanics shows. Pits will be available in the spring.

We've finished learning the creed, now several greenhand members are Earning their FFA jackets. By going to the Kubota dealership and saying the entire FFA Creed. Congratulations to Reece Blackmon, Austin Buck, Delilah Odom, and Calie Sutton for all of their hard work and practice for learning the creed!!
Floral classes make their first Asymmetrical triangle arrangement Thanksgiving style this week!
Advanced Floral tried their first dozen Roses arrangements!
Students were to research cupcake flavors after learning some basics to help sell for a culinary fundraiser all made by them. We had to list all ingredients, do a cost analysis per cupcake to get a price, and make flyers to help market and generate business.
