We are so happy to utilize Kindness Week this year to help our community! We are partnering with Meals on Wheels to help homebound elderly in our community. Today we would like to spotlight exactly what Meals on Wheels does in our community:
Meals on Wheels of Wichita County has a team of volunteers who
work daily to deliver hot meals, and provide wellness checks to
700 homebound individuals in our community. A wellness check
includes volunteers making sure that clients are healthy and safe.
If volunteers find that a client needs extra help, then the social
workers step in. The team of volunteers at Meals on Wheels,
along with our team of social workers, give our homebound clients
the resources and tools necessary to continue to live by
themselves in their own homes for as long as possible. By
providing case management services, we can assess the clients’
needs and provide them with resources and items to meet those
needs or connect them to other agencies in the community that
can assist them. The items needed for our homebound clients
include hygiene items such as deodorant, toothpaste,
mouthwash, lotion, chapstick, puzzle books, and cleaning
supplies. We serve hundreds of senior citizens, and 8 out of every
10 clients we see need some sort of resource/assistance that we
can provide them with. It is so important for these individuals in
our community to have a connection to resources and know they
are cared for and not alone.
We will be collecting donations from now to January 31 to benefit these individuals!

A huge, heartfelt thank you to the Jacksboro Tigers Booster Club for your generous donation to the Heath Aldrich Memorial Scholarship Fund. Your support is not just a donation, but a reminder of the power of community and the incredible bond that unites us all.
To the players on both sides of the court, know that you're not just playing for victory or the scoreboard. You’re playing for something bigger—a legacy of love, strength, and unity that transcends any game. You’re carrying forward the spirit of Coach A, and every step you take on that court honors his memory and brings our communities closer together.
We are all forever connected, and because of gestures like this, Coach A's legacy will continue to inspire us, strengthen us, and remind us of what truly matters. Thank you, Jacksboro Tigers, for showing us the true meaning of teamwork and compassion. This is what community looks like. 💙 💜💙
