Monday, November 7 is a student holiday and parent/teacher conference day. Please make sure you have returned notes with preferences on times you want your conference. Slots are filling up quickly!

5th graders had a special guest this morning. Dr. Thomas, principal at the secondary, wrote a book several years ago. He came to the elementary to read a little of it to our 5th grade classes today!



2nd graders were able to make popcorn balls in their science lab activity last week. They were learning about heat!




Parents, our dress up days were last week. Please remember costumes are not permitted at school on Halloween. We appreciate your help with this!

Pre-k and headstart have been learning about community helpers. Recently, they discussed what a baker does. Today, they had a special guest and were able to decorate their own pumpkin cookie





We have some readers and spellers in Mrs. Johnson’s kindergarten class. They are working hard on reading and spelling CVC words and learning short vowel sounds.





Officer Artie Woods and McGruff the Crime Dog visited some of our classes today for Red Ribbon Week. They shared safety tips and even did a little magic for us!



Students in Ms. Baley’s class just finished reading Maniac Magee. As their final project, they can choose to create a job interview with the author, rewrite a chapter from the book, or create a lesson over figurative language.





December 1 will be an early dismissal day due to UIL. This is a change to our school calendar. Pk-2nd will dismiss at 11:30 and 3rd-5th will dismiss at 11:45. Please make arrangements for your children.
