City View Elementary PTO is putting on a Read-a-Thon Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more. Our Read-a-thon starts Monday February 19, 2024. About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/323738353136/1 and following the simple instructions. We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills. We hope EVERYONE participates.

This past week at City View Elementary we had our school wide kickoff for our House System. We have divided each student and staff member into house families. We did a vertical alignment and paired up PK-5th grade homerooms into four houses. Crickets, Ponies, Colts, and Stallions. The House system was created to build a system of community, discipline, positive reinforcements and accountability! The house with the most points at the end of the year will be rewarded with some fun! * Interesting fact about City View....Our first ever mascot was the Crickets!
