DOD 2026

Wichita Falls, Texas – Dec 1, 2025 – City View ISD is proud to announce its selection as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This esteemed recognition celebrates districts across Texas that demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success through high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

The CTE District of Distinction program, launched by CTAT, highlights districts that excel in workforce readiness, foster innovation in CTE, and inspire others through their dedication to student achievement and community impact. Honored districts serve as models of excellence, showcasing best practices and driving progress in CTE statewide.

Miles Vann, City View ISD CTE Director, noted the significance of earning the designation again, stating, "Being recognized as a CTE District of Distinction for a second year affirms the continued dedication of our CTE educators, students, and industry partners. At City View ISD, we remain focused on delivering high-quality, career-focused instruction that prepares students with the skills, certifications, and experiences needed in today’s workforce. This recognition reflects the strength of our programs and our ongoing commitment to providing meaningful opportunities that set our students up for long-term success."

About the CTE District of Distinction Program

The CTE District of Distinction program was designed to celebrate outstanding career and technical education programs across Texas. Honored districts are selected based on their ability to meet rigorous criteria that include innovative programming, industry based certifications, alignment with workforce needs, and exceptional student outcomes.

Why This Matters

As a CTE District of Distinction, City View ISD is not only celebrating its own achievements but also setting a benchmark for excellence in CTE statewide. This designation opens doors to new opportunities for collaboration with educational and workforce development leaders, further advancing the district's mission of preparing students for success in a rapidly evolving economy.

City View ISD CTE programs are built on a foundation of innovation, workforce alignment, and a deep commitment to student success. With 100% of secondary students engaged in CTE coursework and a 100% graduation rate for concentrators and completers this year, the district continues to demonstrate the strength of its comprehensive career pathways. By integrating academic standards with career-focused instruction, City View ISD prepares students for both state assessments and postsecondary or workforce opportunities, ensuring they develop strong technical and academic competencies.

This year, the district expanded CTE offerings with several new, high-impact programs. The launch of the UAV/Drone program provides students with FAA-aligned instruction in an emerging, high-demand field. City View ISD also introduced a Commercial Feeder Steer Program, giving agriculture students the opportunity to raise and manage a pen of feeder steers through a school-based enterprise model, an initiative that has already gained positive attention through recent local media coverage. Additionally, new supplemental industry-based certification curriculum, including CompTIA, NHA Medical Assisting, and Adobe Photoshop, further strengthened workforce alignment and increased certification readiness.

Community organizations remain vital to program success by supporting CTSOs such as FFA, SkillsUSA, and ProStart through event hosting, mentorship, and participation as industry judges. These connections expand leadership and competitive opportunities and give students valuable professional networks that enhance career preparedness.

Through these growing partnerships, new programs, and increased certification pathways, City View ISD continues to equip students with practical skills, industry insight, and meaningful experiences that prepare them for success beyond graduation.
