Our students had a great time in Washington D.C., here they are at the Tidal Basin with the Jefferson Memorial in the background. This is what it is all about! Julian was part of our 2023 Senior Class. He met all the State of Texas requirements for graduation EXCEPT the required days of attendance. Long story short, it was a heartbreaking conversation to tell him he couldn't walk the graduation stage in May. However, we presented a plan to allow Julian to make up the missing days. Over the past four weeks, Julian has committed to completing the plan. Today, Julian earned a diploma that can never be taken from him. If support is provided to those you give high expectations, amazing things will happen. We couldn't be more proud of Julian and are excited to announce that 100% of City View's 2023 Senior class has earned their high school diplomas. Side note: Julian gave us permission to share this picture and his story to inspire others to never give up on your education even when it is easier to just quit.

That's a wrap! Project graduation for our Seniors ended this morning at 5 AM. Lots of laughs and memories among all the activities of a gaming truck, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, cards, cornhole, music, and fantastic giveaways. We are going to miss the Class of '23, but can't wait to see all their achievements in the future!

Project Graduation
Thank you to everyone who attended graduation to help celebrate our Seniors. We had an amazing turnout, but that meant the 500+ seats quickly filled up. I know an overflow room with streamed video is less than ideal, but we did not want to limit graduates to a number of guests. The recent rainfall created logistical problems for setting up a stage and audio/video equipment at our football field. Tonight's high winds would have only made an outdoor ceremony even more difficult. Next week, we will be posting video of the ceremony to our website along with the Senior Slideshow in its entirety including ALL graduates from tonight's ceremony. Please accept my sincerest apologies to any Senior whose picture was omitted from the slideshow and for the tightly packed auditorium. I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as Colonial Church graciously helped City View and our kids. For me, the smiles on our graduates' faces met with the cheers and applause of their family and friends was the true measure of success. I hope each of our graduating Mustangs know they have made their school, their teachers, and this Principal very proud. Congratulations and best wishes! -Dr. Jesse Thomas
