Good morning everyone! The City View High School Wind Ensemble performed at Seymour High School yesterday for their UIL Concert and Sight Reading evaluation. They worked incredibly hard, and received a Superior rating "1s" from all 3 judges with their prepared pieces. They also received an Excellent Rating from the judges in the Sight reading room. Their piece was tough, and they played great after only having 7 minutes to look at the piece before their final judged read through. Congratulate a Band Student today!

Happy Monday everyone! Quick reminders about what's happening this week.
Our Band gear drive is up and running through March 5th, So if you would like to get a shirt or hoodie now is the time to add to your wardrobe, and support the band!

We are one week away from UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest! Here is the Itinerary. These students have worked incredibly hard in such a short amount of time. Come support them and listen to some great music!

Good Morning Everyone! Here is this week's update on all things Band. This past Saturday some of our students competed at Old High for the Region Solo and Ensemble Contest. They all worked diligently, and we are proud of all of our students. We had so many students compete that results will be easier to post in pdf format attached below. I will say this was an exceptional year for these students because of all that is going on. Last year these high school students did not have to worry about UIL contest running concurrently, and they will now compete Next Wednesday, February 28th at Seymour High School for the UIL Concert and Sight Reading contes. They are working towards a Sweepstakes award, and with this final week of preparation and quick turn around I believe they have what it takes to keep the expectation of excellence that City View and these students strive to attain.
With that being said, if you would like to support these students, we are beginning a spirit gear drive for all bands starting TODAY! A portion of the proceeds will go back to the band in the form of spring trips, instruments, and other equipment the students always need. I will post the flyer and link here for those that would like to represent their band student(s), and get some band wear for the upcoming spring. This gear will be perfect for showcases, concerts, and any event you see the City View band attending. We are incredibly proud of our band students. Thank you all for your support!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday Everyone! Just a quick reminder of this weeks events.
We have evening rehearsal tomorrow Monday February 12th from 6-8 PM! Attendance is mandatory for all students competing with us at UIL on the 28th. It is imperative that we are all there! If there is a conflict, then please contact me prior to tomorrow nights rehearsal so I can discuss with other organization sponsors. It is our ONLY evening rehearsal. You may stay in the band hall after school for those that can't find a ride.
Friday there is no school, but we will open the band hall from 12-2 for anyone wanting to practice or those competing this Saturday in the Solo and Ensemble contest. Solo and Ensemble will be Saturday, and the schedule for that will be out soon. I realize we have a few other events happening that we are planning accordingly. All events will be after 12 PM that day. Thank you everyone, and have a great week!

Here is the link to Volunteer Sign Ups moving forward:
https://www.cityview-isd.net/o/band/page/volunteer-sign-ups
This will be posted on Facebook, but I'm hoping this will help reach more people to make it easier to fill these spots. We rely on help from students and parents, and all the proceeds go right back to the band program. Thank you all!

Here is the schedule for those traveling on Saturday. I have already posted the itinerary, but for those of you that were wanting the schedule, i'm going to post it here. Here is a link as well! https://www.tarleton.edu/band/events/bwpday/

Here is the Itinerary for those traveling to Stephenville for Tarleton's Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion Day this Saturday! It'll be a long day, but we are looking forward to it!
Students only need to bring their instrument for the interactive workshops. Other than that I would recommend not bringing anything you don't feel comfortable leaving on the bus! Have a great week!

Quick Information and Reminders! Students going to Region Band tomorrow and Friday, please pack appropriately, and DO NOT forget Concert Black for Saturday's Concert. I am attaching the Itinerary below for the weekend. It has the concert times including the address for those wanting to attend. The concert is FREE! I'm going to include the blast for ALL BANDS for the next couple of months again. These are all on the calendar, but these events will all sneak up on us pretty fast! Working on getting Social Media working So I'm hoping this works for Facebook as well now. Please follow us there for info from us and Band Boosters. Have a great end of the Week everyone!

Yesterday our Jazz Band, "The Herd" had a day of touring around Wichita Falls. They played at Rolling Meadows, Midwestern State University, and the Elementary campus to spread some Holiday Cheer. They played great, got to play in a pretty cool recital, and received lots of great instruction from the MSU Texas Directors. We look forward to many more performances this year!

We pay for the Jacket, but they are fully customizable. Please talk to your second year band students to make sure they have talked to you regarding this. Thank you!
