Here is the Itinerary for tomorrow!

Hey everyone! I hope you are all enjoying a relaxing rainy Sunday! This week we are going to continue the hard work, and keep up the momentum! With that being said we are going to be doing themed dress up days. Show some spirit and coordinate with friends and sections this week. Here's the schedule and themes:
Monday the 4th (3PM-8PM)- Crazy sock day
Tuesday the 5th (3PM-8PM)- Beach Party
Thursday the 7th (3PM-8PM)- Movie Character/Music Artist
Friday the 8th (3PM-8PM)- Dress as a Director Day
Monday the 11th (4PM-8PM)- Decades
Tuesday the 12th (4PM-8PM)- City View Spirit Day
It is important that everyone is at every rehearsal and on time. Which means you are ready to play at 3, not walking in at 3 or later. We will be doing a lot more drill work outside in order to get our first sets on the field by Thursday!
Parents! Students will be bringing packets home for Merchant photos, and business sponsorships. Support in forms of cash, checks, water and snacks are always appreciated!
This week we will continue pushing to receive our donations from our fan pledge blitz, and you can still call people to support for those that were unable to login or attend the Friday Blitz!
We are looking forward to hitting the ground running so once we start school it makes everyone's start easier!
I am also attaching the August Calendar! It will be printed out at the band hall for students that want to take home for the fridge!

Sorry for the late announcement, but we will be moving the conditioning time to Tuesday July 8th at 3 PM. Location will be announced tomorrow, but will on campus. So there will be no conditioning tomorrow. Go outside and get moving this week to help prepare for summer band. We are also checking on parent/student square to make sure notifications will be out on it ASAP. Thank you!

Congratulations to the City View Wind Ensemble on advancing to the Texas Music Educators Association State Honor Band Contest!

Here is the summer letter and band calendar for the 2025 City View Charging Thundering Mustang Band (CTMB) marching season!

If you know of any student that is transferring in or in the process please forward this information to them so they can be in the know, and please contact the band staff with any questions! Thank you and continue enjoying your summer!

Just a reminder!
The Band Banquet is this Saturday May 17th from 6 PM-9 PM. Dinner is from 6-7 PM, with awards following, and a dance after the conclusion of awards until 9 PM. The theme is Afterglow 2.0 so dress nice with bright colors or anything that will glow under black lights! All Students will receive a form from the band staff today to designate whether they will attend or not , and for anyone wanting to add tickets for family or a non band student date. Band students are free for attendance and the meal, and the cost for any other attendees meal will be $10. Thank you!

Just a reminder we have the Guard and Percussion showcase here in the High School Gym at 7 PM! Come support these awesome students! I would like to also prepare everyone for next week because it will be a busy one! Monday is our spaghetti dinner (minimal meals available at door available for $20) and concert, and Friday is the band trip for High school band. I will put the itineraries below.

Friday May 2nd! Come on out and enjoy performances from our award winning guard and percussion students! 7:00 PM start time!

Hey everyone just a quicks heads up on a few things!
-Please sell spaghetti tickets, and turn those in ASAP. The band boosters need those numbers sooner rather than later so we can make sure to raise as much money with this last fundraiser/concert combo on May 5th!
-Physicals are coming up soon so please be ready to get those done! All incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th as well as anyone that had a surgery needs a new physical. If you are incoming any other grade, and did not have one last year you MUST get a physical!
The two dates we have now are May 8th at The Community Healthcare Center at 200 MLK Jr. Blvd, and May 16th at City View High School. You can find the physical form on the band website!
-Lastly I will be sending out a quick look page with dates for the remainder of the semester. 6 weeks left, and it will go fast! Have a great rest of your week!

Shoutout of the day! It's been 1 month since the High School Wind Ensemble performed for their UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest where they received superior ratings from all 6 judges. We are one of two schools in Region 7 that accomplished this task! This Region has outstanding musicians and ensembles, and City View continues to show that their hard work is being recognized around the Area! This is something to be excited about along with earning a Sweepstakes trophy by receiving 9 superior ratings from Marching and Concert & Sight Reading judges throughout the year. Congrats again!

Just wanted to give the past All State students a quick shout out! Now when you walk down the halls of City View you will see the All State students recognized above the Band Trophy cabinets. Auditioning and being selected to the All State band is incredibly difficult. They represent 2% of the auditioning students out of the 70,000 musicians in the state of Texas in any given year.

Please see the letter below regarding summer camps, and our plan for the start of summer band rehearsals (See band calendar)

Huge shoutout to all the current and new High School Band kiddos in the National Honor Society. The way they do anything is the way they do everything, and we are super proud of them in all they accomplish!

For those that missed the info meeting last night I will attach a link to the presentation that will be on the band website below.

Please take time to look through the calendar. All dates through August are updated with dates through December being finalized by the end of April. I always encourage everyone to just go through it when they have time because there is a ton of info and resources available for students and parents. The QR code on the last slide is a parent form for those interested in helping the Band in any capacity that you feel you can! Thank you!

Hey Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Spring Break! We are going to have a quick parent meeting in the High School commons to prepare for the rest of the calendar year TONIGHT from 5:30-6:30! This meeting is a very general band program meeting in order to make sure everyone is informed regarding all aspects of what we do in grades 5-12 here at City View ISD. The topics we will discuss will be done so in a concise but informative way to lead you to be able to find answers from the website and/or our staff and include:
-5th grade music into 6th grade band transition
-Instrument rentals
-7th/8th grade Jr. High Band Opportunities
-8th-12th grade High School Band Opportunities
-Our Website and Social Media
-Student and Parent Expectations

-Band Calendar (This is on the website already and is planned out Tentatively through August 2025)
This will cover a lot of information to be able to give you the tools to keep yourself informed. We will not deep dive into this information since it is quite a bit of it. If a student is even debating joining band, or you are a parent who would like your student to join we highly encourage this meeting for anyone to come meet the staff and band boosters. Thank you, and have a great rest of your week!
The Board Meeting will also be tonight at 6 We will be showcasing our Winter Guard team, State advancing Solo and Ensemble students, and leaders from our sweepstakes winning Wind Ensemble to the board. We look forward to seeing you at either event!

Congratulations to the City View Winter Guard! Yesterday they competed in the NTCA Championships and earned 3rd place with a score of 63.28. They beat out all but one 3A school in Novice competition in their first year to compete! Way to go Guard, and excellent work from Amanda Milbern to put together such an incredible show! Have a great Spring Break everyone!

Congratulations to the City View High School Wind Ensemble! Yesterday they performed at Seymour HS for the UIL Concert & Sight Reading Contest.
They earned a Superior Rating (1) from every single judge that listened to them!
The concert portion consisted of prepared pieces including:
American Legion (March)
Lullaby in the Mirror
Evergreen Escapades
Some of the comments received from the 3 judges:
"Such a beautiful ensemble balance this band has, so nice to hear you play as a unit"
Students play with excellent tone qualities that are controlled and balanced"
"Students have a lot of irons in the fire, and they've done a wonderful job of accepting instruction and becoming fine musicians"
"I really enjoyed your different styles and musicality"
Once finished on stage they had 7 minutes to play a piece they have never seen before and continued the excellence we strive for as the City View band, and received yet another set of 3 superior ratings!
Congratulations again to the City View band! With this Superior performance of "Straight 1's" they earned the first Sweepstakes award for City View since 2021!

Congratulations to the City View Winter Guard on their 3rd place finish at Summit HS with a score of 55.36. Even competing against all schools 4A and up they performed an amazing show! If you see a guard member or Ms. Amanda tell them congrats this week, and wish them luck as they compete in championships on March 8th!
