The North Zone Contest is in a weather delay and will resume with the first band in warm-up at 12:00 noon. Please adjust all schedules back two hours.
When in a lightning delay, PLEASE keep all students and staff under the concourse or on your buses.
Here is the updated Itinerary:

Please remember that call time is 8:30 AM! We need to be here by then in the commons to watch the video, and eat breakfast. We're having burritos.
You must have your full travel uniform including Long black socks, band shoes, and Enchanted band shirt on tomorrow. Your shirt is your ticket into the stadium after we perform.
We perform at 1:30 PM! at C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton- 1500 Long Rd, Denton, TX 76207

Students please bring Sunscreen. It won't be miserably hot, but if we are in the stands/sun you will want some protection for the first half of the day. Trust ME!!!!
For any family and friends that are planning on traveling please take into consideration traffic for tomorrow. 380 and I35 are always hectic, but with UNT playing football and people traveling for the Red River Rivalry it looks to be even worse from i'm being told!
Finally, get some rest! Way to stay in it tonight, and there were a lot of great things in the performance. It gets better every time and as usual the fixes are easy. It will take us getting more picky moving forward, but I know with how you all are that you can and will do it! Keep up the hard work, and we will see you all tomorrow to show off who has the best band!

Can't wait for these kiddos to show off all their hard work on Saturday!

Parents! You're students have been working so hard, and I can't brag on them enough! Their resilience and work ethic is getting better and being executed at a higher level every week. As we get to the third week of school please help out the band directors, coaches, and teachers by checking their grades! We always ask them to ask for help earlier rather than later, and to make sure they are turning work. They are doing a lot of things, and it takes a village to push the standard of excellence that City View consistently expects. All of the support goes a long way to show these kids they CAN do it all! This will ensure they are able to keep doing all of the fun things they love to do in school! Every organization on campus is working incredibly hard, and I have to brag on all Football, Cheer, and Band students after the rainy hard fought game in Windthorst! If any group of kiddos has H.E.A.R.T. , it's the City View Mustangs community. The way we do anything, is the way we do everything. Thank you all, and let's have a great week ending with celebrating our Seniors!

Our big fundraiser starts in a few days! Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 to provide instruments, supplies and the best trip experiences possible.
We are asking ALL parents to pre-register their student(s) here:
https://www.shopfund.com/parentregister
Make sure you use Group Code: 3RC8Y
Please get at least one person to support our fundraiser before our official kick-off day. Any student that is registered and adds 10 contacts will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win over 1,000 prizes. How cool would it be if we took a chunk out of our goal BEFORE the fundraiser even starts?
Thank you so much for your help!

It is important that everyone is at every rehearsal and on time. Which means you are ready to play at 3, not walking in at 3 or later. We will be doing a lot more drill work outside in order to get our first sets on the field by Thursday!
Parents! Students will be bringing packets home for Merchant photos, and business sponsorships. Support in forms of cash, checks, water and snacks are always appreciated!
This week we will continue pushing to receive our donations from our fan pledge blitz, and you can still call people to support for those that were unable to login or attend the Friday Blitz!
We are looking forward to hitting the ground running so once we start school it makes everyone's start easier!
I am also attaching the August Calendar! It will be printed out at the band hall for students that want to take home for the fridge!

This link has all the dates in the calendar tab in a google sheet form and a google calendar that you can add to your own! We will be starting music rehearsals this week, and the schedule is as follows:
Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22nd= Guard and Percussion camps (3 PM-7 PM)
Wednesday the 23rd- Open Band Hall/Makeup Rehearsals (3 PM-5PM)
Thursday the 24th and Friday the 25th= Full Band Section Rehearsals (3 PM-7 PM)
I have posted all of the music in Parent/Student square with practice tracks for all students for every instrument! The Marching Health routine is also on there for anyone that would like to go over it prior to rehearsal (Highly recommended)
As always go outside this week and get acclimated to the heat and drink lots of water and electrolytes. It's going to be a great year!
