Hey everyone I hope you had a great 4th of July weekend! Just want to get the summer band stuff refreshed and on our radar. We will not do the conditioning days we had scheduled on the calendar this week. If you are doing your forte workouts you will be plenty prepared! Coming up we have guard camp and the forte clinic. Please look at the times! We will be doing an abbreviated 2nd day to go over the workouts/a few fundamentals. Then it's continuing to work on music leading up to our camps beginning the following Monday. We look forward to seeing you all this upcoming week!

Summer Opportunities at Midwestern State! Happy Monday everyone just wanted to share a couple of things Midwestern State is doing this summer. First, the communiversity Orchestra is doing a summer series which is open to the entire community. If you are wanting to perform this summer with a great group of people then here is your opportunity. Alumni, friends and family are very much welcome as this is for all of the community. There are only 3 rehearsals and a concert. July 8th, 22nd, and 29th from 6-8, and a concert on July 2nd! Mr. Spencer is playing and super excited to perform some great music. If you have any questions email Mr. Spencer!
Lastly, If you love playing in a drum line mark your calendar for July 11th. The MSU Drum line will have a "Chop Day" with Dr. Corey Robinson that day with time TBD. Let a director know if you're interested, and is also open to recently graduated Seniors to just check it out if you'd like! Get those Forte workouts done, and have a great week!

Just a few reminders! Forte Athletics boot camp starts this week. All you have to do is 2 workouts a week. Starting with the fitness test to see how much you grow this summer. Thank you to everyone who has already signed up and started! These people have already completed at least one workout: Marrissa Juarez, Eli Campbell, Aislin Amaya, Nicholas Mok, Mackenzie Ellingson, Raegan Hutson, and Kason Bolduc! Great job guys! If you wanna add a little competition to it, and see if you can beat me here are my scores from the intro fitness test- (Agility-144, Coordination-22, Endurance-110, Strength-30) Looking forward to seeing you all get prepared for summer band and should take no more than 1 hour each week!
With that being said if you have dues remaining to pay for the fall, then please pay here:
https://cityview-isd.revtrak.net/jshs/band/band-misc-fees
Those are due ASAP, and cover all of the band students for the fall. If you ordered shirts for family we especially need those payments. Thank you for all of your support and help with this!
Also I have posted a few info blasts, but if you want hard copies of music or want to instrument check out for the summer you can still do that. We will be at the band hall next week, and I will post those days and times later this week. As always taking just this little bit of time to prepare for the upcoming season will help greatly, and still give you time to have a nice relaxing summer!
Summer letter and more dates/times to follow to help for reminders! Thank you!

If you haven't done so yet, there's still time to register and send out for people to support all City View Bands! It finishes up this Friday, but the store should work through Spring break while they finish up and send us our stuff by mid April. There's also a way to donate if you don't see anything you like in the catalogs. Thank you to everyone who has already supported, registered, and shared!

Final Reminders and Housekeeping things for Contest tomorrow:
Please remember that call time is 8:30 AM! We need to be here by then in the commons to watch the video, and eat breakfast. We're having burritos.
You must have your full travel uniform including Long black socks, band shoes, and Enchanted band shirt on tomorrow. Your shirt is your ticket into the stadium after we perform.
We perform at 1:30 PM! at C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton- 1500 Long Rd, Denton, TX 76207
Link for tickets: https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/dhs-pobc-gtc-25/2025-golden-triangle-classic
Students please bring Sunscreen. It won't be miserably hot, but if we are in the stands/sun you will want some protection for the first half of the day. Trust ME!!!!
For any family and friends that are planning on traveling please take into consideration traffic for tomorrow. 380 and I35 are always hectic, but with UNT playing football and people traveling for the Red River Rivalry it looks to be even worse from i'm being told!
Finally, get some rest! Way to stay in it tonight, and there were a lot of great things in the performance. It gets better every time and as usual the fixes are easy. It will take us getting more picky moving forward, but I know with how you all are that you can and will do it! Keep up the hard work, and we will see you all tomorrow to show off who has the best band!
